Thredbo 2018

Thredbo P B-day trip
14 - 18 September 2018

Two nights in Towong and two nights in Thredbo. Driving into Thredbo for a snowboard at minus 8 degrees on Sunday morning over ice and snow. Great conditions for spring, wasn't able to capitalise on the little bit of fresh snow ⛄ due to having no idea where we were going! Thredbo does seem to be my sort of mountain - high vert, long runs, and fast.

We perhaps picked perfect time again to hit the snow 👍, day before we got in it was raining, busy and miserable. Snowed overnight for us to enjoy and the day we left kosci/cruiser on wind hold.

Also noteworth is Paulette was 100% 6/6 T-bars (next stop T-bars to the Plateau Rosa) - but - at one stage was running at 80% for chairlifts. The Karels t-bar didn't seem worth it which was a shame, maybe it was the conditions.

Burrowa -  Pine Mountain National Park Cudgewa/Bluff Falls

Hapi viet dinner in Albury.

Main range covered in snow/rain cloud. Looking over Towong, Corryong. We were told Towongs do not make a Bright.

Working at heights tickets were not checked

Dropping into cruisers ballroom

B... Boundary Ballroom?

There was very good intentions of avoiding a T-bar for P that ended... poorly for P. She's actually good enough to smash this hard and fast forced turns run but mentally sore.

Contemplating .... Why did I follow Dane?

Isa, Adeles Grove, Boodjamulla, QLD 2018

Mt Isa, Adeles Grove, Boodjamulla, Brisbane
Late August - September 2018
27/08-04/09

A couple of days in Brisbane beforehand for work, beat P to Mt Isa by 24 hours as her trip took 32 hours! Great work Qantas. Camping in Adeles Grove for a couple of nights before back exploring Mt Isa Mines.

6 hire bike ride.

Adeles grove.

The story of Adeles grove is a little sad with a massive 50 year old botanical garden being destroyed by fire shortly after the local mine started. "... Albert de Lestang was in his early seventies and having lost his building complex, all of his written records of plants and their hybrids, his stores and a large percentage of the planted Grove he succumbed shortly thereafter...". Tis pretty though.

Lovely canoe down the gorge, water was low nearing the end of dry season but the spring flows all year around

Successful Mavic wet launch and catch from canoe.

Definition of an oasis

Not sure if P actually liked camping, or just creating dessert jaffels.

Disappointed I didn't do some 360 photography.
